I’ve been aware of who Max Hernandez was for a while now and as an angler myself, I admittedly got a bit star struck meeting him initially. I am confident when he reads that it would likely bring about a chuckle. While he proved what an extremely versatile and skilled angler he was, in a very short amount of time, Max Hernandez is an extremely humble guy. To get the opportunity to work with him, in any capacity, was truly an honor. Our goal is to represent Max as well as his associated sponsors in the best light possible.
I was invited to tag along with Max Hernandez and a few of the folks he fishes with to get some footage as well as compete in a little fun fishing derby amongst the guys. We met at Bartlett Lake just before the sun came up and got the boats in the water. Unfortunately one of the gentleman had engine trouble and another had trailer issues, but we still managed to compete against a few boats, it was a lot of fun!
We finally launched around 7:00am and was to be back at the boat ramp to weigh the fish at 3:00pm, which gave plenty of opportunity to set the cameras up and take advantage of the awesome scenery. In all we caught 8-9 fish, being that it was Bartlett, we weren’t expecting anything huge, but the consistency of that lake has always been appealing. We met all the guys back at the ramp just before 3:00 and were fortunate enough to edge out at win by a mere 4 ounces, just beating the gentleman who had engine trouble. I got to give it to him, to fish one area all day, using only a trolling motor and end up with solid fish, was pretty cool. But Max Hernandez is an incredibly talented fisherman who can adapt in any conditions.
We captured a bunch of footage, landed a bunch of fish, had a bunch of laughs and met a bunch of good folks. It was an awesome day! We look forward to working with Max Hernandez on his future promotional endeavors and would love the opportunity to help you with yours!
